💰 Edinburgh residents are facing another £30 million of council cuts as preparations for next year's budget get underway. A trade union representing council workers warned there was ‘no amount of jiggery-pokery that can be done with the finances’ as the council had already been ‘cut to the ribbons’. - Local Democracy Reporter Donald Turvill in Edinburgh Live.

🏰 The Royal Air Force and the Tattoo are facing calls to curb or drop their festival flypasts due to concerns about their ‘environmental damage and emotional harm,’ reports Brian Ferguson in the Scotsman.

🇹🇼 Speaking of polls, here are the results of Tuesday’s Edinburgh Minute readers’ poll on whether the council should go ahead with a proposed ‘friendship arrangement’ with the city of Kaohsiung in Taiwan, after concerns it could harm relations with China.
📆 The monthly Full Council meeting starts at 10am today. The agenda includes the budget, Traffic Regulation Orders, the City Plan 2030 and a long list of motions from councillors.
