Museum could shut for seven months, Holyrood Park car ban ruled out (for now), pub's karaoke warning + Newhaven mural unveiling

💰 The People's Story Museum on the Royal Mile could shut until April next year as part of council cuts. But the plan is only expected to save £205,000, in stark contrast to the council’s projected £26.7m overspend. - Local Democracy Reporter, Donald Turvill, Edinburgh Live.
🚦 Campaigners have described the lack of a ban on cars in a new strategy for Holyrood Park as ‘hugely disappointing’. - Vicky Allan, The Herald.
⮑ Historic Environment Scotland outlined its ‘vision for a more sustainable and vibrant park’ earlier this month after ‘extensive consultation’.
⮑ There is still a chance that further restrictions on motor vehicles in the park will be included in an upcoming Movement Strategy, which is currently being developed in collaboration with the council’s own mobility plans.
🪦 A new information board has been unveiled in Holyrood Park to highlight a memorial cairn in memory of Margaret Hall, who was murdered there in 1720. The sign was added after a long campaign by local historians including Sara Sheridan and Andy Arthur, who posted these images from the unveiling yesterday.
